Blazin

So the T.Blazers have a 07-08 season leading 11 game streak and this is their upcoming schedule:

Fri, Dec 28Minnesota10:00 pm
Sun, Dec 30Philadelphia6:00 pm
Mon, Dec 31at Utah8:00 pm
Wed, Jan 2at Minnesota8:00 pm
Thu, Jan 3at Chicago8:00 pm

Considering they've had the mettle over Utah twice on their run to 11, it's entirely possible that the Portland team will notch up 16 straight. PORTLAND?!

Yi

This one's for Ivan. His main man Yi hit his first 12 shots today. Currently, he just missed his first shot of the game with a minute left in the 3rd quarter leaving his current shot stats at 12-13. I don't know what the record for most shots in a row is but he must've been well on his way to reaching it.

Another random observation, the Bulls only had 4 scorers on the board today against the Rockets up until Andre Nocioni's jump shot with 17 seconds left in the 3rd quarter. Yikes.

They Ball A Lot, We Ballot A Lot

Democracy is a broken system. You give stupid people a voice and the result is a slurring or stuttering garbled mess. You give stupid people a vote and the result is a slurring or stuttering garbled mess:

I think I make my point.

What does this have to do with NBA? Well the first returns of the All-Star ballot has been revealed and there are some interesting results. Notably, Yao Ming isn't leading the pack for the sixth straight year with a billion votes but instead, is falling behind Kobe Bryant and Carmelo Anthony of all people. I don't know if David Stern implemented a gerrymander tactic where all votes in Denver are worth five times of those in Utah/Texas/China but somehow Melo is tallying more votes than genuine MVP candidates Nowitzki, Boozer and the aforementioned Yao.

Another travesty worth mentioning. With 101,878 votes, Eric Dampier is in front of:
- Marcus Camby (94,473)
- Pau Gasol (73,461)
- Chris Kaman (40,256)

And in the East, he's besting the likes of Wallace (of both varieties) and Jermaine O' Neal.

Eric Dampier has fans? Eric Dampier?

What in the Blazers?

After their W over Toronto today, the Trailblazers have notched up their 9th straight. And I ask; How in everything holy and right did this happen?!

On a related note, there's an article on Yahoo that spends way too much wordspace on a young player whose rise is more mediocre than meteoric.

Travis Outlaw article

Two questions:
1. Why is there even an article on this guy in the first place?
2. What kind of sad soul can write 1200 words on T-Outlaw?

Zzzach Randolph

He's a monster on the glass but he's not no.1 on the Eddy Curry Line for no reason. Some food for thought on the guy, who just so happens to be on Ivan's roster.

Players who ... have more or as many blocks as Zach Randolph:

(Western conference)
Dan Dickau
Tony Parker
Antoine Walker
Earl Watson
Steve Blake
Beno Udrih
Mike James
Anthony Carter
Sasha Vujacic
Jason Terry

(Eastern conference)
Ray Allen
Brian Scalabrine
Dwight Howard(!)
Keyon Dooling
Smush Parker
Kyle Korver
Willie Green
Ben Gordon
Kirk Hinrich
Raymond Felton
Daniel "Boobie" Gibson
Eric Snow
Eddie Gill
Kareem Rush
Jermaine O'Neal
Jose Calderon
Stephon Marbury
Jamal Crawford

Eric Snow? Eddie Gill? Those guys average less than a quarter of basketball per game hahah. And Earl Watson is 6'1" on a good day. Zach, hands up in the air in defence ok?
