I think it was 2 or 3 years ago that Ivan and I were stewing on the lack of decent centers in the game. It was during a time where the O' Neals of Indiana and Miami were the dominant forces in the game and Ben Wallace was in the midst of his Defensive Player of the Year streak.
3 Years on and how vastly different the landscape of big men in the NBA has become. You have game-breakers like Marcus Camby (almost certain to retain Defensive POTY honors), Chris Kaman (almost certain to earn Most Improved), and Al Jefferson (22ppg/12reb) all missing out on all-star honors all because of the sheer depth in center value going around right now.
Coupled with that is the stop-and-start seasons from Pau Gasol, Elton Brand and Brad Miller (currently in vintage form) and the latent talent of potential greatness in Andrew Bynum, Lamarcus Aldridge and Al Horford - suffice to say, the state of the C position in the NBA right now is too much to handle.
